Thank you so much Matt! Again! We are so blessed by your kind heart.
Carol Floyd, you are so kind;) I would love to have you in South Africa, but I know you're headed to Thailand;)
Thank you and Merry Christmas to you!
Thank you so much! Miss those sweet girls!
Thank you so much Kevin, Renee, Callie and Cassi! I do miss y'all! I also like a good reason to write 'y'all'! Y'all are so sweet to think of us. We will certainly put this to good use! I'm thinking a washing machine...Merry Christmas to your family!
Thank you Marissa! It's a role-reversal! You're teaching me. Thank you for stepping in to help our family and give of your hard earned money. Trust me, I was a waitress, it is hard earned!
Thank you Matt! This will certainly help with all the new school uniforms and home furnishings we will need;) Nothing says Merry Christmas like some gray flannel shorts and bed sheets. Thank you so much!!
Thank you all so much for your generosity. It is truly staggering. Thanks to your giving over our goal, we will be able to use some to help furnish our next home. When we started this, how could we know that we would need to furnish our next home? Thankfully, the abundance of goodness will help considerably. Thank you! http://www.thequists.com/Site/News/Entries/2012/10/30_Moving...Again..html
Nothing has been recovered with the stolen car, or its contents. But, through this, we uncovered valuable lessons and truths. Thank you.
Thank you seems inadequate. We were able to pay off the insurance deductible, rent another car, eat for the rest of the month, AND continue our Saturday traditions with the boys like nothing ever happened. We rented the only car we could find to rent in the valley-a 1998 magenta colored Ford Fiesta. We will NOT be taking this for granted!
You all have touched our lives and we pray blessing after blessing for each and every one of you. Thank you.
Totally blown away by generosity. Amazing.
A friend in South Africa said to me, "Wow, your friends are very sweet the way they stepped in to help you." Indeed, they are. Thank you all so, so much!
Thank you all so much! You are indescribably generous!
We love you R-K's. I feel like we are one family!
Thank you Allison;) My kids still bring out the phrase 'chin butt' in your honor.
Thanks Lance and Danielle!
We thought we could be brave and make the sacrifice. Turns out, we are big babies. This bit just got too hard.
While our oldest son Jackson has lived in Ohio, finishing his senior year, we have lived in Cape Town, South Africa, working in a local township community. We don't regret our work here, but we do regret missing his entire senior year.
It is beastly expensive to fly a family our size back to the US, and it is simply NOT in our budget, but we really would love to see his graduation ceremony and be part of this moment in his life.
It's frivolous, we know. The funds could be used to purchase a car, which we desperately need also. But, we've been absent for soccer games, basketball games, homecoming dates, new jobs, etc. We really would love to make it back for this!
Here's the plan: For roughly $1100 per person, we can fly from Cape Town to NYC. From there, (after 30 hours of flying) we will rent a car and drive to Ohio. That will save about $400 per ticket. One person has kindly purchased one ticket for us. So we really only need 5 more!
The graduation is in June. Would you consider helping us get to Jackson's graduation?
