Help the Pucci family!

On November 2, 2007 Pierluigi was diagnosed with Non-hodgkins Follicular Lymphoma.  The nature of the disease is slow growing and the treatment is "watch and wait", instead the couple decided to fight and live!   


In September, 2014 Pierluigi came home from work on a Friday with a slight fever and feeling weak, they found out his cancer had transformed into an aggressive, large B cell Lymphoma and his white blood cell counts were through the roof. Pierluigi was immediately admitted to the hospital where he began 8 treatments of Epoch Chemotherapy for the next 5 months.   Throughout the entire process the family remained extremely positive and truly believed without a doubt he would beat this!



On January 30th, Pierluigi checked into the hospital... he had been having some pain and nausea the last few days, the Dr's decided to check his spinal fluid to rule out the possibility of a new development of cancer, the results came back positive for a secondary Lymphoma of his Central Nervous System.  

The next few days were extremely horrific with Pierluigi's symptoms amplifying after his first round of high dose methotrexate, causing him to be sent to the ICU after having seizures from his brain swelling.   The Dr's explained that the next 48 hours would be extremely difficult and they would resume plans after they saw how he recovered from this...  they did not know how strong Pierluigi is.  They called his almost immediate recovery a miracle, although we all know it is much more than that.  Pierluigi has spent the last 7 + years treating his body as his temple.  He has given up all indulgences and choses to fill his body with only things that will help him fight.  His joy comes from his family, his work, his passions.  He believes living is far more important than anything else and will do anything to remain here.
