Help Gugu graduate form school(HS)

Hello everyone!

My name is Patricia Carrillo and I will God willingly be heading out to Swaziland, Africa on August 17, 2015 to be a year long student missionary and I need your help! I am currently a senior at La Sierra University who hopes to become a Youth Pastor or Chaplain. God has placed it in my heart to be a student missionary for many years now and I am finally taking that big step in my life and saying "Yes, Lord! Lead me and I will follow. Help me and use me to spread love to these little cuties, gogos and their families".

Due to the high AIDS rate, many children in Swaziland lose their parents and their Gogos (grandmothers) then take the responsibility of being their parent figure. It is very difficult for them to do so, both physically and financially. Some children even have to take up the responsibility to parent their younger siblings.

I will be working with the organization SOHO (Saving Orphans Through Healthcare and Outreach). SOHO continues to help families by sponsoring them with monthly food aid and clothing through various donations. They also have two preschools, of which one is a care point where over 50 children receive a daily afterschool meal and tutoring.

I want to help SOHO make a difference in the lives of the beautiful people of Swaziland. I want to serve the HopeSeekers and their family, showing them that there are people who love and care about them. I strongly believe that one of the greatest gifts that God has given us is the ability to love and he has called us to live out a life of service and missions where ever we go, even as we go about our daily lives. My prayer is that we all strive to love one another and serve each other.

Throughout these next few months I will be raising funds for my flight, living expenses and other necessities that the children and families may need.

I will also be raising money to purchase shoes in Africa which will be given to the children and their families. Shoes are one of their biggest needs at the moment. I hope and pray that I can raise enough money to purchase 2 pairs of shoes for each child (school and casual). The children can walk up to 10kms (6 miles) to school. The estimated cost is $15-$20 per child for both pairs.
