PASS: The Noble Idea

Donation protected
We are PASS: The Noble Idea in Prattville, AL.   PASS is a great non-profit agency in our community that is comprised of 3 programs:  Teen Court, Independent Decision, and Youth Coalition.  We need your help to continue helping our local teens grow into successful and productive adults at a time when they are faced by too many dangers and distractions.
Teen Court gives first time non-violent offenders  an opportunity to have an informal adjustment and attend a peer court rather than juvenile court.  All persons in the peer court are local  teens who have been trained in courtroom procedures.  All Teen Court participants are required to participate in Life Skills Training Classes to help them to make better decisions.  Once a participant has completed their Teen Court sentence, the charge is removed from their record.  This program gives them a second chance.
Another program that we have is the Independent Decision program.  This is the voluntary drug testing program that we provide to  our junior high and high schools at no cost to the school or student.   We go in to each school, with parental approval, and test each participant when they first enter the program and then again randomly throughout their participation in the program.  With a negative test, they are issued a picture ID.  They can present thier ID at local businesses that have chosen to support the ID program by providing various discounts and free items to the students with a PASS ID card.    Currently there are approximately 4,600 students enrolled in the ID program.  That takes a lot of money to test each child!
Our final program is the PASS Youth Coalition.  The Youth Coalition is made up of local teens from 7th -12th grade.  These teens volunteer at different community events to promote PASS and increase awareness of substance abuse and other dangers facing teens in our community.  The Youth Coalition has participated in events such as the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day with the Prattville Police Department, Distracted Driving Rollover Presentation with Alabama State Troopers, World Wide Day of Play with the City of Prattville, Tree Planting, Trash Pick Up, and Recycling with PALS, National Night Out, and the Prattville Fire Department Open House.
Any money received by PASS will directly help to keep these progams alive and help us to help our youth become productive citizens through Intervention, Education, and Service.  Please take a moment to watch our video and help us keep making a difference.
