As a teacher, we see our school children as our own and care for them as if they were ours.
When they are sick, we feel deeply for them and their families.
We would like to raise money, to help a wonderful family pay the medical bills, for an amazing kid.
Chad is a happy, caring, intelligent 12 year old boy. He loves playing baseball, watching sports on TV, swimming, hanging out with friends, and gaming on XBox. He wants to become a Marine Biologist.
On February 25, 2015, 12 year old Chad Leventhal, was getting ready to go to school. He called for his parents as his body began to sieze. He collapsed into his father's arms and they rushed him to Bethesda Hospital.
An MRI determined that he had a brain tumor that was the size of a baseball. Chad was immediately transported and admitted into Chris Evert Children's Hospital.
On February 26, 2015, Chad had brain surgery to remove the tumor.
Devestatingly, a second MRI determined that although the tumor was successfully removed, the cancer had spread to his spine.
Chad has had several surgeries since then, and has begun his battle to fight cancer, with chemotherapy.
We don't know how his body will react or what the future holds, but with love, prayers, and hope, we will continue to support this amazing boy and his family.
Chad and his family have a long, hard, emotional and financially burdening road ahead of them.
