Help fill Anil's suitcase to Nepal

Namaste! I am Anil Man Singh, a native of Kathmandu, Nepal.  On 25th April 2015, the largest earthquake in last 80 years left my beloved country and countrymen in shambles. This tragedy of our lifetime has left people dead, injured and displaced. Our wrenched hearts and dropped tears are in no comparison to the disparity and pain our brothers and sister in Nepal. With the best of intentions, I, along with a group of my friends, have come up with measures and efforts to help in the recovery and relief for the victims of the earthquake.

As an immediate measure, I am traveling to Nepal on the 6th May and I plan to take with me suitcases filled with supplies that can be put to instant use on the field to help in the relief. The lists of items I plan to take are based on demands stated by professionals who are currently working in the effected areas helping the victims. Our goal is to take as many supplies as possible, funding being the only limiting factor. We have also coordinated with professionals and volunteers in Nepal to receive these packages and put them to instant and effective use. The list of items I am taking is as follows:

1.     Emergency/Disaster Personal Water Filtration kit: (bear in mind, monsoon is coming and we still do not know the extent of damages to sewer lines) The chances of contamination of water sources from debris, rain water seeping into water sources carrying the debris and pollutants from the destruction and the damaged sewer lines, are high.

2.     BioMask Antimicrobial Face Masks: One of the leading causes of fatality after such a mishap is the inhalation of debris and dust. It’s an item that is a must, not only for the victims, but also for the volunteers helping in the recovery.

3.    Painkillers

4.    Medical gloves

5.    Crank Powered USB Cell Phone Charger

Again, this is the initial response in effort to provide immediate assistance. We have further planned timelines to raise funds in Universities and local communities to meet long-term objectives.  Stay in touch with us to learn about the long-term goals. Help us help our country.
