Here is how Mr Gay England finals will be scored:

Rounds and Percentage Marks

· Charity Fundraiser (20%)

· Written Test (20%)

· Audience Vote (20%)

· National Dress/Regional Costume Catwalk. (10%)

· Beachwear Catwalk (10%)

· Formal Wear Catwalk (10%)

· Congeniality (10%)


The Charity Round makes up of 20% of the Final Marks.

This is awarded to the candidate who has raised the most for our two chosen charities this year, The Charlie and Carter Foundation (CCF) which provides financial support to parents of seriously ill children with life limiting conditions which require 24 hours nursing and care and The Northern Pride Health Zone, helping to keep mental health care, counselling, sexual health advice and screenings free for all.

So my name is Chiyo and DAMN... I am competing for Mr Gay England.

I’m going to let that sink in because that’s major: it’s major for me on a personal level, but it’s also major for the pageant/the competition itself. I am the first Trans man to EVER be a finalist (for Mr Gay England).

Imagine how... DELICIOUS it would be if we made QUEERstory and I was the first Trans man to WIN Mr Gay England. To hold that title. To take up that space.
