Photographing the Monsoons
Donation protected
Growing up in Kansas, I've always had a love for thunderstorms. Until last year, I had never experienced very many large storms outside of the midwest until I had the fantastic opportunity to photograph the south rim of the Grand Canyon National Park during their annual monsoon season. On my first night, I witnessed some of the most incredible moments of light I have ever experienced. Light beams shined through the storm clouds, creating ethereal images that can only speak for themselves.
Meteorological predictions have been made this year that state this year's monsoons could be some of the largest storm systems in years -- and I want to capture them on film.
I'm asking for your help to make this year's monsoon photography trip a reality.
My goal is to take two trips to the southwest with possible photographic locations being: Grand Canyon (north and south rim), Monument Valley, and up into southern Utah.
As a thank you for your support, I'm offering you a number of rewards from handwritten postcards with images from the journey to open edition and limited edition fine art prints of your choice.
Any level of support is greatly appreciated!
