Johanna King for Miss DC USA 2015!

It's always been a dream of mine to compete in the Miss USA pageant. I've always been told to not focus on pageants, and continue to focus on my education and my career because pageants are a waste of time. I honestly could not disagree with this rediculous statement more. Not only does the Miss District of Columbia pageant offer thousands of dollars in scholarships, but it will also help me gain the competitive edge over my future job seeking competitors.





I am a firm believer to never ever put a price tag on your dreams. Nothing ever comes easy, which is why most people quit. I know what it takes to achieve my goals and dreams, and failure is a main portion of it. I've had my fair share of pageants and have competed ever since I was 15 and only won one title, which was Miss Virginia 2008 for National American Miss when I was 16. I am now 22 and all my years of competing, I have not won another single pageant, even thought I know I have what it takes. This honestly does not stop me, because I know my success will be so much greater than any shortcomings I may have had.





I am asking you to believe in me, because I know I have what i takes to not only Win the Miss District of Columbia USA pageant but to stand out enourmously in the Miss USA pageant and possibly even win! I believe my career will take off immensely from there.

Here is a breakdown of where the money will go to:

Entry fee alone: $995
I will be using the rest of the expenses to cover makeup, hair, and wardrobe expenses.
