Dear Potential Sponsor,
I have been selected to represent the Austin community as Miss Black Austin Illinois USA 2013 for the Miss Black Illinois USA Pageant. Chosen from an exceptional group of applicants, I am extremely excited and honored to be competing with young women from the great state of Illinois. Amongst the achievements that I hold with my title, I am currently a firm believer in God; which merely doesn't allow me to compete with others, but it allows me to happily promote what he has instilled in me. Since my will is greater than my skills I have had the opportunity to travel over-seas and explore the heights of famous monuments, corner countless avenues of fashion, and study strong role-models as an aspiring fashion stylist and mentor. In the duration of my quest, I've managed to graduate with a Bachelor's of Science, focused on a concentration of Fashion Merchandising (and a minor in Business and Communication Studies) at Eastern Illinois University. I plan to use the scholarship prize from this pageant towards my Graduate School funds, advancing to complete my Master's in Business Administration.
In the near future I plan to be the owner of a household named stylist agency that will gracefully speak the language of fashion, style, and constructive beliefs. Education, family values, and life values are currently at an all-time substandard in my opinion. Children in the current education system and the majority roaming the streets, especially those of the lower west-side of Chicago, are being stiffened by the lack of opportunities and optimism that is offered.
As a contestant I will have an opportunity to receive a scholarship and represent Illinois in the prestigious 2013 Miss Black USA Pageant. To enter the state pageant there is a sponsorship fee, and the remaining proceeds will go towards a non-profit organization called DIVAS (Developing Intellectual Visions and Self) Inc. The DIVAS organization is dedicated to empowering and enriching the lives of young women through lectures, discussions, workshops, group outtings, and life experiences given by their mentors. This organization is a well-needed mentoring program located in the Chicago’s west-side community that helps guide young ladies into woman-hood. I'd like to eliminate the "crab in the bucket" effect amongst our young women and educate beauty and knowledge from a perspective that they may relate to.
Additionally, this is an extraordinary opportunity for you to receive recognition as a Miss Black Illinois USA Pageant sponsor in the official pageant program book for your business. The sponsorship fee can be deducted as a business advertising expense (Businesses only).
Thank you in advance for your support!
Dearest Regards,
Shakari White
