Stan's Road to a Miracle!

Donation protected

In 1993, I remember being taken into an ICU room to say goodbye to my daddy. At 9 years old, you don't realize the gravity of these things. My dad was extremely sick with a rare form pneumonia and toxic shock syndrome. Later we would find out that it was the same rare combination of illnesses that took the life of Jim Henson. We were told over and over that people don’t survive this illness, yet by the grace of God, my dad overcame!

Fast forward to this week. We sit camped out in an ICU waiting room, just praying and searching for answers. A week ago, my dad was perfectly normal. In this last week he has lost memory, the ability to do simple tasks like using a fork or getting dressed, and he has spent the past four days in the Intensive Care Unit at St. Mary’s hospital in Hobart, IN. Each day we continue to pray and praise God for the miracles that have and are about to occur. We are not leaving the hospital without him walking right beside us.  God is working on a miracle, and the progress he’s made so far is proof!

While a few diseases have been eliminated off the list, there is still a very long list that we are waiting on results for.  The one thing we do know is that he has Encephalitis, which is swelling and inflammation of the brain.  What we don’t know is what type of infection caused it. His doctors are trying every type of antibiotic they can and working to chip away at this puzzle, but it is grueling on him.

I also know, that he would not be as far as he is today without the support of his friends and family, that have kept a constant flow of visitors for him and really to help support us through this time as well. Not a minute goes by that there isn’t someone praying for him and contributing to this miracle that we are about to see.

One of the hardest things about that journey is knowing that my parents have put all of their money into building their business God Rocks. They spend all of their time trying to reach others with the word of God and really spread their testimonies with a message of hope. God is sure creating a testimony out of this situation!

With that said, I know that all of these treatments and ICU stays, and even the doctor’s visits that will come along with being released are also going to take a financial burden on our family. My parents are the last ones to ask for help, but I know that any little bit will help make an impact.  I know I’ve put a pretty large goal, but I do believe it can happen! All proceeds will be used towards his recovery and the finances needed for his medical care.

Thank you everyone for your support thus far. You have no idea what means to him, and our entire family. Even if you can't  make a donation, prayers are amazing! He has said that God is going to get him through this, and I know that is true!

Love Always,

“I Need A Miracle” –Third Day

Well, late one night, she started to cry and thought, "He ain't coming home"
She was tired of the lies, tired of the fight, but she didn't want to see him go
She fell on her knees and said, "I haven't prayed since I was young
But Lord above, I need a miracle"

Well no matter who you are and no matter what you've done
There will come a time when you can't make it on your own
And in your hour of desperation
Know you're not the only one
Prayin', "lord above, I need a miracle
I need a miracle"

He lost his job and all he had in the fall of '09
Now he feared the worst, that he would lose his children and his wife
So he drove down deep into the woods and thought he'd end it all
And prayed, "Lord above, I need a miracle"

Well no matter who you are and no matter what you've done
There will come a time when you can't make it on your own
And in your hour of desperation
Know you're not the only one
Prayin', "lord above, I need a miracle
I need a miracle"

He turned on the radio to hear a song for the last time
He didn't know what he was looking for, or even what he'd find
The song he heard gave him hope and strength to carry on
And on that night they found a miracle
They found a miracle

And in your hour of desperation
Know you're not the only one
Prayin', "lord above, I need a miracle"

"Lord above, I need a miracle"
