Mauer/GPD tempered glass PR

We have raised raised over $4,100 to cover the cost of presenting at GPD - fees, fares and hotel, etc.

A window cleaner's best chance to influence the quality of tempered glass. At the world's leading glass tech event (GPD) - our audience is tempering experts - who teach the world how to solve tempering problems. The goal is more technical info, training, etc.,  to help temperers resolve a glass fines/scratch issue.
To reach those teachers with this message,  Gary Mauer will present the window cleaner’s perspective on tempered glass problems at Glass Performance Days (GPD), June 24-26 in Tampere, Finland. 

This is an independent PR campaign, which has always been respectful, never confrontational.
Goodwill has been established.  Progress has been made.  (See below.)

At GPD, Mauer suggests ways glass temperers can check tempered glass with scrapers and he promotes the early detection and resolution of scratch-causing defects.  Included will be a summary of technical resources now available, and an appeal for more

Mauer devotes countless hours to PR during the year, dozens of hours fundraising - the trips to Finland take the better part of a week. He can afford the time, but needed help with expenses.

This will be Mauer's 4th presentation since 2009. Window cleaners have stepped up to sponsor 3 previous efforts.

Donor names are added to the WCN poster on display at the GPD Expo. (Dozens of names show broad support from the window cleaning industry.)

Signs of progress? YES!
* The new Glass Tempering Handbook tells fabricators it’s essential to eliminate glass fines because of scratch problems reported in the US. Thousands of handbooks have been downloaded - thousands of glass people have that information. (A direct result of contacts Mauer made at GPD.)
* Mauer has hundreds of glass industry contacts on LinkedIn, the professional networking site.
* Glass professionals have joined the WCN Tempered Glass Quality group.
* Mauer has joined 3 glass industry forums totaling over 14,000 members, where he posts freely about tempered glass.
* There have been a few anecdotal reports of improvements by some brands - of glass that doesn’t seem to scratch as easily.

Why Tampere, Finland? Because Tampere is where you need to go; GPD is the world’s foremost glass technology conference. This is where the industry’s best information gets published - in the 500 page proceedings book and online at www.glassfiles.com . (You‘ll find Gary Mauer‘s articles there, too.)
GPD is where you reach the teachers.
