Lorne Ave P.S. End of an Era Bash!
Donation protected
As hard as we fought, we were unable to save the heart of our community and the Thames Valley District School Board has made the decision to close Lorne Ave Public School. Though delays to renovations at the 'new' school may see us remain in the building for a short period of time, the battle is over and Lorne Ave will close its doors to students once and for all at some point in 2016.
But we aren't going to go quietly!
We, the School Council, are looking to throw a party like no other. Not only for the students of Lorne Ave, but for the community who rallied behind us with support to keep our school open. We would like our students, staff and supporters to take away happy memories of our last days together. Our plan is for a barbeque and fun fair with games, prizes, photos, dancing and a closing ceremony with special guests to say farewell to the school that has served us so well.
To do this, we need to raise a significant amount of money that we won't be able to generate from the school community alone. Thus we are turning to friends, family and strangers from near and far to give the Lorne Ave community an "End of an Era Bash" that they will never forget.
Any contribution to our final blow out - large or small - will be greatly appreciated. We fought hard and the battle has now ended. But not before we have one last HOORAH!
On behalf of the Lorne Ave School Council, students and the entire Lorne Ave community, thank you for your donation. Please feel free to join us on June 6th to say goodbye and share your memories. We would be happy to have you.
