Lola's 2nd Knee Surgery Fund

Donation protected
Dearest friends, our 1 year old rescue kitten Lola has a cruciate ligament rupture in her hind right leg.  When the cranial cruciate ligament is torn, instability occurs that allows the bones to move in an abnormal fashion in relation to each other. It is difficult for the cat to bear weight on the leg without it collapsing. This condition is painful and, if untreated, can lead to permanent joint complications. Lola can barely walk and so she must have surgery. The orthopedic surgeon will fashion a replacement ligament and stabilize the joint with a pin so it functions normally or nearly normally. Post-operatively we will need to limit Lola's exercise for 6-8 weeks so she will have to be kept in a cage. Her surgery is scheduled for Sunday 4/25/15 at VERG in Brooklyn.  VERG is an amazing facility and they have excellent doctors.  Unfortunately our pet insurance will not cover the $3500 surgery because the condition is pre-existing. We are asking that if any of you can help us out in any way we would be eternally grateful.  Lola is our 7th rescue in the 18 years Rob and I have been together. We love animals and our cats are our children.  Thank you so much for your consideration and for any help you are able to provide. Anyone with pets who donate $100 or more and live in NYC, Rob will professionally photograph your pet as a thank you. Please share this post. :)
