Studying Shakespeare in London

Donation protected
What's going on right now: I have been accepted to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, LAMDA, for their four week Shakespeare Summer Short Course 2015. And that is where YOU come in. I need some help with the funding of it, and tuition is due at the end of this month (April).

My story: In January of 2014 I took a leap of faith.

I started my first acting class. The acting studio I chose was Truthful Acting Studios in Orlando, FL. Little did I know that my life would be forever changed by this program and experience...

But first, let's back up a few years. My freshman year of college in Vancouver, WA started off normal enough. I was a Vocal Performance major at Clark College; enrolled in multiple choirs, studying classically in my solo work, etcetera. During our winter semester I found myself sick, and had lost my voice... The thing was, after I got better, my voice did not.

My voice teacher suggested I get "scoped" for nodes, or nodules, which are essentially calluses on your vocal chords. Sure enough, I had them, and I had them bad. Finding out that my loss of voice (as a singer) was of a more permanent nature, I sank very quickly and deeply into a state of loss and confusion. I was forced to do a lot of self exploration at this time.

During this period I heard of an opportunity at Walt Disney World, The Disney College Program. It seemed a good idea, and a good escape to allow me some time to clear my head and figure out what the next move in my career was. I was accepted to the program and found myself on a plane to Orlando, FL shortly thereafter.

I quickly came to realize that the possibilities for a performer/singer were quite numerous, and I knew that I STILL wanted to be a performer in some capacity, so I decided to permanently relocate to Orlando.

After a while, I started hearing more and more about film and television opportunities here in the Southeast, so I started sniffing out some auditions. My first independent film, I ran across two actors that studied at Truthful Acting Studios. They invited me to their showcase. I went, and was captivated by each and every performance I saw that evening. It was then and there that I knew this was the studio I would save up for and study at.

January 2014 I walked in that studio as a student, eager to learn and explore my creativity. Here we are now, a year and four months later, and I am proud to call myself a Master Meisner Program graduate. I have taken both on-camera classes, and have participated in a showcase of my own. I have become Studio Ambassador to Truthful Acting Studios, as well as a Part I Intern. In the last year I have been in numerous independent and student films and other various projects, I have acquired an agent, I have been on several commercials, and I have performed in the theme parks.

.... And there is plenty more to come, I assure you. Truthful Acting showed me how much I truly love the craft of acting, and now I just can't get enough.

That is what brings us here. It is my DREAM to study Shakespeare in London, England at one of the most prestigious acting schools in the world, LAMDA, and that is exactly what I have been accepted into. Their four week Shakespeare Summer Short Course.

What I need: I need to raise money for not only tuition (which is due by the end of this month- in two weeks), but also, raise money for the costly flight over to London, living expenses (room and board, etcetera), and funds for my regular financial responsibilities here in the states.

Please, whether it is a dollar or a hundred dollars, every bit helps. AND TELL ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY, AND TELL THEM TO TELL THEIR FRIENDS AND FAMILY. Let's put this on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, whatever you can do to help is appreciated.

Thank you for you love and support! Let's make this happen :)
