Medical Expenses - HELP!!

Donation protected
I am a 36 year old survivor of Hodgkin's Lymphoma Stage 4a Advanced . I was diagnosed in 1990 at age eleven.  In August 1991, I had an Autologous Bone Marrow Transplant .  I went on to lose my 'angel on earth' mother to metastatic breast cancer in September 1997.

My cancer never returned, but my overall health has declined steadily over the years.  On August 13, 2007; I had to have a Dual-Chamber Pacemaker implanted.  I have been in the hospital every month since last November (except April) with:
November - Pneumonia
December - Pneumonia
January - major reconstructive knee surgery
February - Pneumonia
March - Pulmonary Embolism and DVT
April - Woohoo! Got the month off
May - Pneumonia
June - Finally was diagnosed with Ehler's-Danlos Syndrome - Type 3 Hypermobility .

It is quite unhealthy for me to use public transportation as I have a very poor immune system. At least 2 of my recent pneumonia’s was 'community acquired'.

I wish to purchase my own vehicle to get around safely and healthily.  My goal of 10k should be more than enough to purchase a good used car with enough savings to cover insurance and estimated maintenance for one year.  This will help me keep more of my energy which will improve my quality of life.

Being newly diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, type 3 (Hypermobility) leaves me having to use a wheelchair for about 75% of the rest of my life. Since this is a connective tissue disease, I must be as kind to my joints as I possibly can.  Using handicap public transit (the RIDE) is very limited, rarely runs on time, and takes 4x longer than if I drove myself. I have on average 6 Doctor appointments every week, along with business (I began my career as a Freelance Writer on New Years Day 2015) meetings here and there. With the RIDE and medical appointment transportation from my insurance, one appointment can take 3-4 hours even though it is within 5 miles of my home.  I go to the Longwood Medical Area, which houses some of the best hospitals and doctors in the world, for my care.  Though sometimes I have to go to a satelite campus to see a specialist.

I don't know what the future holds for me, but I have always been a very independent woman and I wish to keep that independence as long as I possibly can.
