Keep Peoria Beautiful (KPB) is a volunteer, not-for-profit organization committed to improving the Peoria area through beautification, litter prevention, waste reduction, recycling and education. As a loyal affiliate of the national Keep America Beautiful organization, KPB has supported community improvement and beautification since 1955. Our goal is to create a greener, cleaner, more attractive, litter-free community.
We need your help and financial support in order to continue our efforts to keep Peoria beautiful. Funds raised will be used to help with our expenses for the Great American Cleanup. Expenses include purchasing trash bags, yard waste bags, work gloves, and other miscellaneous items needed for the many hundreds of Cleanup volunteers. Please consider donating - no amount is too small!

Your business or organization is invited to be part of the nation’s largest annual community improvement event. Join with friends, neighbors, classmates and colleagues for this citywide litter pickup. It’s a little work and lot of fun! Click here to register your team today.
During last year's cleanup, we collected 85,000 pounds of litter and landscape waste, collected and recycled 56,000 pounds of electronic waste, and collected and recylced 5,000 old tires. Thank you to everyone who participated!

For the past 59 years, KPB has been a catalyst for drawing together governmental agencies, civic organizations and volunteers to make a significant impact on the Peoria Community.
KPB has initiated numerous beautification projects, established recycling drop-off sites, developed pocket parks, sponsored public art, bestowed landscape and beautification awards, conducted environmental education and awareness, coordinated city-wide cleanups and riverfront beautification, all in an effort to make Peoria a more attractive place to live and work.
Orchid and Onion Awards KPB has been bestowing these honors for more than 40 years to Peoria businesses for their outstanding effort in improving the appearance of their property.
Orchid Awards are given to businesses that have done an excellent job in site beautification and/or landscaping of their property. Beautification Awards are given to businesses that have done an outstanding job of landscaping and maintaining their property; a runner up to the Orchid Award.
Orchid Maintenance Awards are presented to businesses that have previously won an Orchid Award and they continue to maintain their property in excellent condition.
Building Beautification Awards are presented to businesses that have done an outstanding job in renovation and restoration of older buildings.
Onion Awards are given to business properties that are a visual blight in the community. The goal of this award is to encourage businesses to improve the appearance of their property thereby ensuring a cleaner and more beautiful city.
The winners are announced each September at the Annual Awards Banquet. This event helps to elevate community awareness of the importance of beautification and environmental stewardship. Anyone can nominate properties for these awards.
