As you all know, a couple of weeks ago Joan discovered the breast cancer she had fought so hard against has returned and is life threatening.  She has completed the initial testing, biopsy and medical preparation to begin her 2nd round fight with Stage 3 Cancer.  This coming Monday (November 17, 2014)  she will be having a port input in order to begin months  of chemo to shrink the tumors before surgery is done to remove her breasts and do reconstructive surgery. (A new pair as Joan says!  Always a sense of humor with this girl!)    As most of you know, her journey is not as small an undertaking as she would have us believe.   Joan will stay and live with her Mom (Saint Mom), who is great support but at age 82 may face some challenges herself that were not so present during the first battle.  (None of us are getting younger, are we?)   Gratefully, there are many who will be there to help provide love and support to see them thru this very difficult time.  

 Please, we need your help.  While insurance will cover a good deal of the surgical cost, Joan and her family need our help to assist and cover additional expenses. Specifically, she will be unable to work or financially support and pay living expenses on her own for up to 2 years recovery time.     We are so grateful for the kindness and support currently being afforded her and for the folks who have volunteered to drive her to appointments and be there with her  ( Her vehicle died just a week before learning of the current diagnosis)   It has been a god sent and important to have that support  given her Moms current age and own health concerns.  Jean has been such a rock for Joan in all ways but her strength as she ages and battles her own health concerns has impacted her abilities and resources. 

Over the past week, friends, family, colleagues and others have generously shown their support by sending love, good wishes, and care packages which have been a tremendous encouragement for Joan and her family during this challenging time.  So many folks have asked what they might be able to do to provide help that will go far in making a difference during this struggle and to ease the tremendous weight on them so that they can focus on getting well.  

We would like to offer everyone another way to show their generous support of Joan and her Mom by donating to Joan’s recovery fund which will benefit the family and help to pay medical and recovery expenses.

Please help us ease the financial burden for her. People shouldn't have to worry about which bills they'll pay, or if they can afford to continue treatments.

Every donation will go directly to Joan to  help cover the cost of treatment such as chemo, pain medicine, anti-nausea medicine, etc.,  and medical fees like MRI, CT Scans,  IV,  lab work etc... And to provide help for the other financial burdens caused by not being able to remain working during most of the treatment and recovery time.  EVERY DONATION COUNTS - $5, $10, $20  OR WHATEVER YOU ARE ABLE TO GIVE WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED AND WILL HELP US REACH OUR GOAL!
