Jeff to Durango Songwriters Expo

Durango Songwriters Expo is an annual event where 200 songwriters from across the country are able to support other songwriters, learn about the music industry, and receive critiques from 35-to-40 top music industry, film, and TV professionals.   

After I finished demo recording 16 of my songs in 2013, I was unclear about a way to get my songs out to the world.  In an ever-changing market, I have received many conflicting messages about the "right way" to proceed.  Then, miraculously, over Christmas I read about Meghan Trainor's ("All About That Bass") experience attending the Durango Songwriters Expo, and how it led to her writing songs for major recording acts (Rascal Flatts and Sabrina Carpenter).  Learning that the Durango Songwriters Expo is an event for song*writers* (not performers per se) to find support, to network, and to educate themselves, I knew it was a perfect fit for me.

The challenge was time:  the next expo is _six weeks away_. With such a quick turn-around, I definitely needed some help.
