Jaxson's journey is the story of a resilient little man living an action packed life! Mother Mindy’s water broke three months early, meaning Jaxson spent the entire month of December hospitalized in mom's womb with not much fluid to swim around in. After being born two months premature, Jaxson spent most of January in the neonatal intensive care unit before finally heading home, sweet home to be spoiled and adored by all who got a glimpse of that dimple.
Just shy of 2 months old, Jaxson abruptly and unexpectedly topped breathing. Quick-thinking mom called 911, provided CPR, and was able to resuscitate him briefly. Jaxson stopped breathing soon again but was resuscitated by a first responder (Officer Raymond Pilch we love you!).
It is believed that Jaxson experienced a seizure causing him to aspirate and stop breathing. He was admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit and will be sporting a trach for quite sometime. He will have a long journey to recovery and with that a serious financial strain.
Mom Mindy was born maternal so it's fitting that she married Shawn who has proven to be an inspirational father. Any support you can provide this phenomenal little family would be deeply appreciated, no matter how small you think it is. A small donation from you is a HUGE gesture of love and support to Jaxson!
$10 can get them medical supplies like baby sized trach guaze. $20 gets them parking to the rehab facility for the day to spend time with Jax and learn how to manage his trach and seizure condition at home. $50 and up helps Shawn and Mindy really chip away at the overwhelming current and future medical bills to give Baby Jaxson the best care.
