On Thursday November 6, 2014 Jaimee Mendez went missing. The next day, the 7th, her jacket i.d and cell phone were found in Salem Mass. Then on the 9th her sneakers were found in a dumpster in Lynn Mass, and that's when the state police homicide detectives entered the investigation. Air, water and countless foot searches were conducted over the next few weeks without results.
An excruciating 83 days after Jaimee went missing she came ashore tied to two lobster traps on Kings Beach in Swampscott Mass. Her skeletal remains were identified through dental records and d.n.a analysis.
The investigation into Jaimees death is ongoing and we, the family, feel extremely confidant that her killer will be held accountable for his heinous actions.
In addition to her devastaed family, Jaimee leaves behind her beautiful 6 year old son Jayson and his father Dan, her boyfriend of 8 years.
Jaimee's son is nonverbal autistic and is waiting for his mother to come home. A son is without his mother, and as Dan faces the tremendous task of transitioning into single parenthood of an autistic child, ( which is a full time job in itself ) we can only imagine the struggles and challenges he will face in the years to come. For 6 years, Jaimee was the sole provider of the family, working double shifts while making sure her sons and her own doctors appointments were met. She continuously worked to find the best education for her son, as well as trying to manage her type 1 diabetes. Her son still needs to be provided for and this page has been set up to help with the costs for Jaimee's funeral expenses and Jaysons special care that is needed.
