Joshua Christian Academy Playground

Donation protected
Joshua Christian Academy is a mission school in Des Moines, Iowa.  In 2009, we started with only nine students. Currently, JCA serves more than one hundred students in kindergarten through eighth grade.

Right now the students enrolled at the school have absolutely no safe and inviting place to play.  The city owns the lot on the south side of the building that once held playground equipment.  In August of 2014, the city informed the school that they no longer wanted to keep up the playground located there and that they would be tearing it down.  It was then torn down and seeded to grass.  Currently, the students have nothing but green grass outside the building where there was once a playground.

Rickety, old wooden equipment exists on the north side of the building that students are unable to play on because it simply is not safe to play on.  The equipment is very old, and broken down and the wood is breaking apart and in splintery.

We are in the process of a TRANSFORMATION STATION!  We want to create a fun, creative, and safe, healthy, outdoor learning environment  for these deserving students!

We are going through a local company to build an OUTSTANDING PLAYGROUND for these students!  Please help us to create this fantastic learning space for them!
