There aren't too many things in life that bring out Isabel's smile. If you're lucky enough to see her with peacocks at the zoo, meeting a mascot (especially the Orioles Bird), or dancing with her friends, you will witness a very special sparkle.
Team JOY, Isabel's Special Olympics cheer squad, has become a part of her sparkle. It is Isabel's special group of friends...and a loving extended family that rallies aroud its teammates.
For the first time ever, cheerleaders have been invited to the Special Olympics World Games. Isabel and her friends from JOY are VERY excited to be a part of this historic event. This July, Isabel will head to Los Angeles and cheer with more than 250 cheerleaders from around the nation.
Unfortunately, the cheerleaders are not part of the official Special Olympics athletes delegation, so each athlete has to pay her own way (approximately $2,500). While we are doing our best to cover as much of these costs as we can ourselves, any donation would help Isabel get there with her team.
Whether or not you can make a monetary contribution, our family continues to appreciate your love and support. Stay tuned for more sparkle--and lots of smiles--from Los Angeles this summer!
