Volunteering at an Orphanage in Peru

Hello everyone! :)
Thank you for taking a peek at my fundraising page to help send myself to Lima, Peru to volunteer at an orphanage and children centers from August 1, 2012 to August 15, 2012. The organization I will be with is called IVHQ (volunteerhq.org), and together we hope to make a difference in the lives of some of these children in need.
What will I be doing there?
The duties of a volunteer are typically to help the day to day activities of the kids, whether that be giving them individual attention, teaching them basic hygiene, and any other activities planned by the children center or orphanage.
Why do I want to help?
I get asked what MY purpose is all the time, believe it or not! Ever since I was little I've read articles and seen shows about these young people doing amazing things worldwide and the impact they've had on the communities they've reached. This was around age 6 or 7 for me. Thirteen years later, after volunteering with my church, school, and other organizations over the years, it's time to see the difference I hope to make in other countries.
As a little, less "passionate" side reason, I am a Spanish minor in university! :D
The goal I have set is towards my flight, program fee, and some set aside to help pack a box full of necessities the children need. From what I hear, the biggest supply they need is hygiene products and clothing.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to read this page, and any help is appreciated! This will be my first trip to Peru, but hopefully not my last as I plan to volunteer whenever I can!
