The Art of Asking: Shame and criticism are two things associated with the act of asking for help and I have never understood why. Asking isn't easy. Asking makes you vulnerable. Asking feels like begging. In reality, the very act of asking someone for help creates a connection between the both of you. This is difficult, I am vulnerable, I am not begging, I am asking you for help. If I raise $1 I will be so grateful. If I reach my goal, I will be just as grateful.
I understand that donating to someone on social media can make you feel uneasy and many times it feels like a scam. I am a college student trying to turn my life into something productive and beautiful.
ME: My name is Henry Brott. I am a 19-year-old college student at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota. My dream is to get a good job in marketing out of college, then eventually start my own business and give back to the community. Many of you know that in the process of getting a college degree, you accumulate a massive amount of debt. This is the same debt that has financially crippled the dreams of so many young adults for years. Attending college is the biggest risk I have ever taken in my life. I truly cannot afford to be sitting in this dorm right now, but I believe in my ability to create an extraordinary life for myself by earning a degree at this institution. I understand that some of you may exit out of this page scoffing at me in judgement, but I hope some of you can appreciate genuine vulnerability.
If you're still with me, I humbly ask that you share this on different platforms and/or donate anything you feel comfortable with. You have the power to help change the course of my life by reducing my debt in order to maximize my hopes and dreams.
