Sara and Steve Wagasky are wonderful loving parents to a large blended family. They were blessed with a son of their own, Ari Wagasky in 2011. In March of 2013 they were blessed again with LiZa Wagasky. All that changed on June 24th, 2013.....while on vacation at their cottage, sweet Ari, in the blink of an eye, went into the water. He did not survive........
This family has mourned, grieved, and tried to find a new normal. But it doesnt end there.....Where we live we had a HORRIBLE winter, record snow, wind and cold. In January 2014, Sara got a call from a neighbor that Ari's dog Shadow had run away and was at her house. Not wanting to leave LiZa, Sara bundled her up and headed out the door to get the dog.....she fell down snow covered and icy steps, while holding LiZa. Fearing LiZa was hurt, she was taken to the E.R...that is where the nightmare began. LiZa had a fracture on her leg which they were told would heal quickly. Reported by the hospital as a possible abuse case, cps was called in. It has been a never ending nightmare of the children being removed from the home, hours of interrogations, accusations of abuse, negligence and even being accused by detectives and CPS for being the reason Ari died. Sara is an advocate for children. She is on several boards for missing and exploited children...and would NEVER harm a child. They are fighting this with everything they have, but fighting the family court and cps is NOT easy and NOT cheap. A specialist was brought in to re-evaluate LiZa stating in documents that there is no evidence of any abuse or neglect. Cps is refusing to drop the case and return the children to the home, even going as far as to try to permanently remove the children. While they continue to fight this in court, the attorney fees are skyrocketing. Please help me in helping them by taking a small burden off their minds of how to pay for all this, while grieving a heaven child and earth children they love and are missing dearly. UPDATE: On Friday, June 27th Sara and Steve were cleared (INNOCENT) on all charges and the children returned HOME! Let the healing begin!
