In May 2010, I moved back to Sacramento after my mother passed away in order to take care of my father. He couldn't really live by himself, and I had promised him that he wouldn't ever have to go into a nursing facility.
After caring for him for almost four years, he passed away in March 2014. The past year has been one of grieving, but also of rediscovery - who is Paul when he doesn't have to take care of an elderly parent?
Meanwhile, I've been a Certified Massage Therapist since 2003, and have spent time building up a decent practice here in Sacramento - I cover my expenses, but it can be difficult to put money away.
I've been able to travel to Portland a few times in the past year, and have fallen in love with it - the rivers, mountain, forests, but most of all the people. Friendly, adventurous, and laid-back, Portland just feels like home.

Miscellaneous living expenses while I build clientele, including care for my two miniature schnauzers, Suki and Iffy.
