This is Lonnie Reynolds. Shadow. Some of you reading this already know his story. For those of you who don’t… Lonnie is a homeless man who is in the Fort Worth, TX, area. On February 5th, 2015, Lonnie had returned to his camp in the woods near Fort Worth Lake and laid down with his dog, Shadow, for a much needed nap. Next thing he knows, everything happens in a blur…right outside his tent door hears a loud voice saying “Fort Worth police,” then “Hold your dog!” Before the officer had even gotten that out, next noise he heard, he will never forget… a gunshot. His beloved dog, his son, had been critically wounded. Lonnie, who also has a prosthetic leg, crawled out of his tent to help Shadow. He was then delayed by the officers for 30-40 minutes before he could get Shadow to the vet. With friends and loved ones joining in, Lonnie, Robin (Lonnie’s ex, Shadow’s mom), and James (Shodow’s step-dad) are fighting to get justice for Shadow’s death. Yet, Lonnie is still homeless. He has already had too much trauma in the past few months. He doesn’t need to have this still on-going homelessness as an added burden; he needs a home. He says he doesn’t need much; just deposit, first month’s rent, and some supplies for his prosthesis. Can you help? It would be much appreciated. Let’s get Lonnie into a place he can call home!
