Help Toni Fight Cancer
Toni was diagnosed with cervical cancer (Stage 3b) on December 14th, 2012. Toni has been through so much since that December. Here is a little of her battle:
She was treated from January 2013 to May of 2013, with Chemotherapy and Radiation Therapy. She endured 6 weeks of chemotherapy, 25 sessions of direct radiation and 2 sessions of brachytherapy (LDR - Low Dose Rate) radiation therapy. In May of 2013, her radio-oncologist said that the tumor seemed to be going down and everything looked "fine", this was echoed by her oncologist as well.
In December of 2013, Toni started having severe pains in her abdomen and became very sick, quickly. With a trip to the ER in January 2014 (one of many to come) they discovered that part of her intestine had closed from the radition treatments she received and it created a blockage. Toni went through a surgery inwhich they bypassed part of her that part of her intestine and was in the hospital for two weeks.
Between January 2014 and July 1st, Toni had been admitted into the hospital 6 times! That equals 1 time per month. Over the course of these admissions Toni was diagnosed with Radiation Colitis from the severe damage that radiation treatments caused her body.
On July 4th, 2014 Toni was admitted to the hospital once again! This time, for another blockage in her colon, in which they went in and removed part of her colon and gave her a colostomy. While they were running test, one of the doctors told her that there is a mass where her cancer was last time. A trip to the radio-oncologist confirmed this mass and now they are talking about administering Chemotherapy AGAIN.... but before they can do that, she has to recover from this VERY invasive surgery that she just endured and she has to GAIN WEIGHT. Toni has lost over 100lbs. just this year (2014) alone!
Toni doesn't want to do chemo again, and we don't blame her. She also wants to stay out of the hospital too; seven times admitted, just this year! There are safer ways to defeat cancer, starting with getting your body from being acidic to alkaline. We want to treat this in the best possible way... with nature and maybe have significate result to where she won't have to go through Chemo again.
We are looking to acquire our goal as quickly as possible so Toni can be on a clear path to recovery and leave all this sickness behind, and live life to the fullest
