Greetings, I hope this newsletter finds you well,
We are your neighbors and/or friends, Ellaysia "Ellay" Butler and I (her mother, Lysne Nolte) are planning to get involved with a mission trip this July.
For my daughter, Ellaysia's 15th birthday we didn't just want to celebrate with a traditional cake and ice cream birthday. We wanted a way to bond as a mother and daughter and what better way to do that? A trip to Paris, Cabo or someplace fun and nice. No... Not us, our hearts are filled with a calling to help others. We chose a North Carolina missionary group, called giveandteach.org ran by Mike and Carol Claypool based in a small village Santa Rosa, Guatemala.
Ellaysia and I will be selling flip-flops for $15 ($3 s/h) in our community and we are also selling T-shirts as a broader way to get support for building material for a home, chicken coop, stove and a water filter. Of course the more money we make the more we can help the people (mostly children) in Guatemala.
Your Gift Provides...
$40 Water Filter that will allow a family to have clean drinking water and help eliminate illnesses.
$150 Energy Efficient Wood Burning Stove. Many families cook over open fires indoors without proper ventilation. A energy efficient wood burning stoves saves money and provides cleaner air to avoid many health risks for the whole family.
$250 Build a Chicken Coop with all the supplies including;& 25 chicks, feed, vitamins, etc. for a family to begin raising chickens. This will help provide a sustainable source of food and income for the family.
$3000 Material and Construction to Provide a New home for a Guatemalan family. Mission teams, in partnership with the family build the homes with the materials provided. Some furnishes are also provided.
