We had an exciting year last year, having the largest group of students in HCTC history attend the National SkillsUSA Competition in Kansas City, MO. We embarked on an amazing journey, fundraising to send 10 students and 6 staff members to compete at the national level. In just 13 weeks, we raised over $22,000 dollars to make this trip possible.
And things at Hancock County Technical Center just keep on getting better!!!
This year, we blew our previous Skills performance out of the water, winning a record 22 Gold Medals, and an additional 4 Silver and 4 Bronze medals. We had 23 students qualify to attend the National Conference and Competition this June in Louisville, KY. That is more than DOUBLE the amount of students we had qualify last year!
Now we set out on a new journey to send 23 students and their coaches to Louisville, KY in June. This means we have been tasked with raising approximately $42,000 to fund this trip. So far we have made a great start and we have approximately $10,000 left to go!
