Help Greg Get to the NYC Showcase

Hello, my name is Greg Grimes. I'm a Senior Musical Theatre Specialization Major at Bowling Green State University near Toledo, OH. I was recently notified by my department head that I was selected among seven other individuals to attend our New York Showcase in March, 2015. This showcase will be seen by talent agents and casting directors, ranging from theatre to film to television to commercial work; needless to say, a huge deal.
Our showcase is run through a company called The Actors Connection, which not only houses our showcase, but also provides us with master classes and workshops with working industry professionals who can provide us with immediate feedback and guidance as we attempt to break into the business. The company offers an array of packages for the students; the showcase itself is only one set cost. The classes and workshops/networking opportunities cost extra. Roughly, looking at living costs for the week as well as the cost of the package I'd ideally like, I've come up with roughly $1,500 in expenses for this opportunity. A heavy sum? Yes. Worth ever penny? Absolutely.
I've dreamt of pursuing musical theatre performance ever since I saw the Broadway production of The Lion King back in 1999; performance speaks to my soul, is a part of who I am, and helps me make it through the day. I've never wanted a dream this badly in my life.
Why I'm doing this? Well, to restate what I've already said, to pursue my dream. But why GoFundMe? Working two jobs, paying for rent, plus living expenses aren't very forgiving and, after careful calculation, won't be able to help fund this trip. My parents are retired school teachers, and having asked them for things my whole life, I feel obligated to take this financial issue into my own hands, and to alleviate any pressure or stress they would feel from this trip.
By donating whatever sized sum you can, you will help send me to the city of dreams, where I can further grow and attain success in my dreams as an actor/performer.
