Butterfly Learning Sanctuary
Donation protected
The Garinger Butterfly Learning Sanctuary will reside on the campus of Garinger High School; which serves a diverse and high needs population with over 80% of the students economically disadvantaged. This endeavor started as a class project to build leadership and communication skills through service learning in an effort to help develop community internally and externally. This garden area will serve as an outdoor learning environment with seating areas, student made art and topiary designed bushes for over 1800 students and staff, as well as be a home to many butterflies that will migrate to this area.
Due to a zero budget and zero assistance from the businesses contacted in our immediate area, Respect Da Mic Poetry Slam is asking for your support to help secure garden equipment, boxwood bushes, sand, gravel, shovels, rakes, etc., in order to make this garden possible for the students of Garinger.
Phase I will take place between now and May 29 in order to get the initial $1000 to transfer the plants from our school greenhouse to our designated butterfly area.
Phase II will be buying($4000) and installing the boxwood bushes, convertible benches, and walking paths during the next three months.
We are strongly committed to making this project come to life. If you would be able to give us a hand with this project, we would be glad to mention your contribution through our social media accounts.
Please support our cause to help transform our environment, which will transform lives!
