Our Home Transitional has the opportunity to purchase a beautiful 10 bedroom home. If we can raise a portion of the cost of the home, we can apply for grant funding that will cover the remainder of the purchase price.
We are a nonprofit organization that will provide assistance to female veterans (i.e. job training and placement, educational training, home placement assistance, and mental and physical healthcare) through local and national organizations, in an effort to help them transition to self-sufficiency in civilial society. These programs will be offered by Our Home Transitional along with partnering organizations, such as the VA, HUD, CMH, SV MAP, Workforce Develpment, Cars4Vets, MI Talent Bank, and many more!
Our Home Transitional will deliver a unique family style environment not offered by any other housing placement program in our area. Please help us raise the funding we need to purchase this home to help homeless female veterans in need!
Did you know:
The Veterans Administration has limited data to show the number of women veterans identified as homeless, but estimate that it has more than doubled from 1,380 in fiscal year 2006 to 3,328 in fiscal year 2010. Almost two-thirds were between 40 and 59 years old and over one-third had disabilities. In addition, many of these women resided with their minor children.
