Robotics Teams' Trip to Nationals

On March 22, 2015, two teams of middle school students from Forest Lake Education Center's (FLEC) FIRST Lego League robotics program finished first and third at the Southern Regional Challenge. This earned them invitations to the Adventist Robotics League national championship tournament in Sacramento, California, on May 17, 2015. We need your help to get them from here to the tournament.
Our goal is $8740.00 for airfare for the teams. Anything we raise over that will be used for food, lodging, ground transportation and airfare for parent coaches/chaperones. Please help us and spread the word for others to help!!!
Every year since the program has started 3 years ago, a FLEC team has qualified for nationals! One of this year's qualifying teams, the Tech Cadets, went to nationals last year and brought home the championship!
These kids have worked incredibly hard. They have come voluntarily after school, on Sundays, and even during spring break to work on programming, design, and research. They use words like "camber" and "center of gravity" and "torque" and know how all of those things affect their robot's performance. They've developed incredible teamwork, problem solving and leadership skills. They are creative, great communicators, and they know how to work well within a community. Their hard work has paid off, and they have earned a trip to the national tournament to work to bring home another title. Now we just have to get them from Florida to California (and back)! The students are planning some fundraising events on their own (in addition to more practice and planning for the competition), but we need all the help we can get and we're counting on your generosity. Thank you so very much!
