Help Ernie and The Munden's

I am Hannah Munden and my husband is Butch Munden. We are in our 60's and we have 4 dogs. We have been in New Mexico staying in a friends house with all four of our dogs. Last Tuesday night we went to dinner with our friend and when we returned to her home the gate was not closed. Ernie our male lab ran off. We spent the night searching for him and he was not found. The next morning our friends neighbor called her and said a black lab had crawled up in his driveway. We immediately went to his home and found our precious lab, Ernie. He was hit by a car The collision broke his back and  the vet in Taos said that we might be able to help him if we drove him to a specialist in Algodones, New Mexico. His xrays were sent ahead by email from the vet in Taos. We drove him to the specialist hospital and they said that they thought they could operate and he had a good chance of being able to walk if everything went as they felt it would. He had spinal surgery and is still in the hospital. We are anxious to get him back with us and the medical bill is $10,000 and growing! Any contributions to Ernie's fund would be very helpful and appreciated by our family. We love Ernie so much, he is the male puppy from Hondo and Layla's litter. Hondo died a year ago and we just could not stand to loose Ernie!
