Help Elsa the Hero Dog
Donation protected
I adopted Elsa through the HugABull Rescue Society in May 2010. She was 5 months old at the time . Elsa was seized along with 26 other dogs by the SPCA from a backyard breeder. All of the dogs were in very poor health due to neglect. Elsa had a rough start to life. She had severe mange, worms and a respiratory infection. She was lovingly nursed backed to health. Tragically at the age of one Elsa suffered from a fibrocartilaginous embolism that left her quadrapalegic. Due to Elsa's remarkable spirit she was determined to get moving again. My partner Nik and I decided to enroll Elsa in a rehabilatation program . Since then, I am happy to report that Elsa has relearned how to walk! Her encredible determination and her love of people are what inspired me to sign up Elsa to be a Pet visitation dog. She passed her pet screening process with flying colours and is now a certified pet visitation dog through the Pets and Friends organization. Elsa visits people who have had spinal cord injuries and brain injuries at a rehabilitation centre and inspires people to never give up! I am so proud my special dog . Elsa has been recognized by Cesar Millan as a " Rescue dog that has gone on to do something extraordinary" She was also awarded as "Animal Hero of 2013" by the BCSPCA .
