Help Elisa get to Nationals!

Donation protected

As some of you would be aware Elisa only started her netball journey in March of last year and has found a new passion which has been clearly evident in her commitment and successes over the past 11 months.

From joining her friends in a local club the Footscray Shooting Stars playing at Keilor Stadium as a bottom age player in the u13's this season she won both MVP for her team as voted by parents, supporters and coaches and runner up for Best and Fairest as voted by the umpires.

She then also joined the Yarraville Saints 11's Team for their current season playing in Altona and is loving the opportunity to play with yet another great team.

She was also invited by her Aunty to join a brand new team the Westend Tiddas who were to play at the Victorian Aboriginal Junior Football and Netball Carnival in the September school holidays where she was scouted to try out for the Victorian Indigenous State Team the 'Seven Sisters' and from there was selected to represent Victoria in their U12's Squad.

Elisa's commitment to the game has been evident by her participation over the last few months where she has playing two games every Saturday, training three or more times per week and committing herself to four teams (Footscray Shooting Stars, Yarraville Saints, Westend Tiddas and The Victorian Seven Sisters).

In January of this year Elisa went to the Gold Coast and participated in the National Indigenous Schoolgirls Netball Tournament hosted by the Budgies (Australian Indigenous Netball Team) and played with 8 other Victorian girls on the U12s Seven Sisters Squad - going through the five day tournament playing up to three games per day over four days as undefeated winners and wining their grand final in a head to head battle with NSW bringing home the first ever premiership for Victoria since the tournament commenced some ten years ago!

During the tournament they also has a day of try outs amongst around 80 other u12 girls competing for a place on the National Team the Australian Budgies - this was done over two sessions and about 5 and a half hours of gruelling selections and Elisa was successful alongside 8 other girls in being offered a place on the 12A Budgies National Indigenous Netball Team and will be competing again in the Gold Coast later this year.

From the very beginning Elisa has been adamant that she understands and appreciates the cost involved in participating in activities like this and wants to contribute to raising the funds and 'help make this happen for herself' - and we have been ever so grateful to those that have contributed so far!

Again Elisa wants to be able to contribute and that makes us very proud of her and her mindfulness and drive so we are setting up this page and helping her to host another range of activities to ensure that we can keep her on this journey!

I will be posting and updating our plans and activities but some have asked for a simple way to support Elisa as they are unsure of their ability to participate in her upcoming events - hence the Go Fund Me page - and this time we have added reward levels for anyone interested in receiving some of our artwork as a way of us thanking you for your donations and support - Please see pics below for examples of our previous artworks.

We appreciate any support, ideas or connections to sponsorship opportunities anyone may have that could help Elisa achieve her current goal of getting the the Nationals!
