East Prairie Fire Dept Equipment

Over the last 6 months the members of the East Prairie Fire Department have been diligently training to be more effective when the emergency arises.  Through this time period, members have trained over 200 hours.  Due to this training, we have been able to recognize needs in our equipment that need to be replaced, upgraded or repaired.

Currently, the Department has 2 pumpers and one set of the nationally required standard firefighting equipment tools (NFPA 1901).  These tools/firefighting equipment is kept in the supply van that also responds to the calls.  It would be beneficial to both the property owner and the responding firefighters to have these tools and equipment available on both pumpers. 

In the past few years, the City has supplied new turn out gear for each firefighter as well as other miscellaneous equipment and we are currently in the process of applying for a grant to replace our air masks and to possibly purchase a new fire truck.

 In replace of doing individual fund raisers, we are campaigning for donations to assist the City in purchasing another set of firefighting equipment tools as required by the NFPA 1901 which will also help with the fire districts Insurance Services Office ratings, known as ISO, as well as other equipment to assist in our firefighting and to help offset the expense from the City and fire department.
 
The Wish List has the equipment that we are hoping to purchase,duplicated items are because we need more than one, and their cost including shipping.
