Earth & Sky Needs A Building

Donation protected

Earth & Sky Floral Designs and Gallery is a woman Native American owned micro business located on the Pueblo of Laguna reservation in New Mexico, USA.  We recently found out that we are not included in the expansion plans for the building we currently reside in. The building will be demolished in about 5 months.  So we are looking for a new home.

The services provided by our shop covers a radius of 100 miles, mainly rural reservation homes, businesses, schools, and tribal government departments.  We have been unable to secure financing through traditional lenders because of our location on a federal Indian reservation.  Lenders have issues with the sovereignty of the Laguna Pueblo. We need your help!

We provide fresh floral designs created by a professionally certified floral designer.  Our floral designer has gone to floral school and is a Native too!  The other two employees are part-time employee and seasonal.  Altogether, the total work experience in the retail floral industry is over 30 years!  Our floral designs have even traveled to Wisconsin recently for a wedding!

In addition to our floral services, we also showcase the authentic American Indian art of approximately 50(!) local individual artists from the area.  All the art is authentic and is in compliance with the Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990/2010 set forth by the US Federal Government's Indian Arts and Crafts Board.  We work very hard to purchase art and educate our artists about properly pricing their art, marketing, consignment, and showcasing.

If we don't get a building, not only will I, the owner, not have a place to go, but about 53 other tribal members will be displaced as well.  In addition, the residents of the Pueblo of Acoma, the Pueblo of Laguna, Cubero, Seboyeta, San Fidel, Tohaajiilee, Highland Meadows, and other local places will not have a reliable florist, balloon designer, and art venue for them either.

I have found a building through Homes Direct of Albuquerque that would meet our needs.  We would like to turn this modular home into our new business location... unless someone would like to built us a custom built building!

Is there an angel investor/donator out there who will help me out?  Please... my area can't afford to have 53 of us without a job.  Our wish list shows an approximate breakdown of the $105K we are asking for.

P.S. The picture shown is of the building I want to purchase.
