Help Injured Teen Football Player

Donnovan Hill's life changed forever on November 6, 2011 when he suited up for a Pop Warner championship game in Laguna Hills, California. After spending months training and playing under the supervision of Pop Warner coaches, the bright and talented 13-year-old athlete suffered a catastrophic spinal cord injury, resulting in quadriplegia. According to a lawsuit filed on Donnovan's behalf, during the third quarter while playing defense Donnovan attempted to tackle his opponent by leading with his head. The Pop Warner coaches taught Donnovan and his teammates to use this incorrect and dangerous tackling technique even though such tackling is not only banned by Pop Warner but also prohibited at all levels of football. On impact, Donnovan's body went limp, and he was immediately rushed to the hospital.

Donnovan lives with his single mother, Crystal Dixon, in an apartment that isn't built to accommodate Donnovan's health care needs. Donnovan now struggles with daily activities, while his mother remains buried in a mounting stack of medical bills as she cares for her son on an around-the-clock basis.

Donnovan and his mother need our support, and each donation goes to helping them recover from this life-changing injury.
