Hello! My name is Mickey Leon and I am a photographer and creator of The District of Curves Full Figured Fashion Show. This is our first fashion show featuring all Plus Models! (12+) This show is dedicated to Curvy Women and the Fashions they love! We are producing our first fashion show and it will be held in Washington DC!
Full Figured women are under represented in the fashion world, yet they spend millions of dollars each year on fashion. We want to show the world that plus size fashion IS real fashion and show the world that these women are capable of ripping the runway just as well as their more petite counterparts!
This Fashion Show designed to promote positive body image, high self esteem, and a love for oneself. We want to let people everywhere know that it's ok to acccept yourself as you are.
What We Need to accomplish our goal
We need to cover a few basic expenses that come with creating a show such as this. Venue, Promotion & Advertising materials, sound, lighting, etc
The Impact
This fashion show is about more than clothes and models. This show is about helping women feel good about themselves and empowering them to love themselves and be comfortable with who they are. This show is apart of a huge effort to bring Plus Size Fashion and Plus Models to the fashion forefront.
