Help The Deyo Family

Donation protected

Aloha, my name is Maria Deyo. My kids are Destiny and Parker. We need your help to fix our car. It is an old car but it is the only one we have. Please take a moment to read our story. Remember every bit helps so don't feel shy or bad if you can only donate a small amount.  We appreciate every donation, large and small. Plus if you wish you can donate anonymously.

Destiny and I both have serious health issues. She is 20 years old and has Fibromyalgia, Babesia, Bartonella and chronic persistant Lyme Disease. I have Fibromyalgia, Babesia, Bartonella, chronic persistant Lyme Disease, Congestive Heart Failure, Cardiomyopathy, Hypertension and am permanently disabled which means I am unable to work. Parker is an average healthy young man; thank God. It is very important that we have a reliable working car.  We've had our 1995 Saturn for 2 years and maintained it but since it is old things do tend to break down. Earlier this year we had to use all our savings to fix it and crossed our fingers that nothing else happened until we were able to raise funds in our savings again. Unfortunately Murphy's Law happened. Just the other day it wouldn't start. Several of our friends told us that it needs a fuel pump. Our mechanic told us that he won't know until he opens it up and that just checking the fuel pump is an extensive job. He knows that it isn't the starter or the battery and just from the "symptoms" he came to the same conclusion as our friends but again informed me that he won't know till he gets it all opened up. He gave me the high end estimate, so to be prepared for unforseen difficulties. Taking the bus is just too hard on our bodies since it is so cold now. The bus system where we live is not the best and requires a lot of walking to get to the bus stops. Having a working car isn't just for convenience but we especially need it in case of emergencies. Just this summer I went to the emergency room 5 times and was hospitalized 2 of those times. It is vital that we are able to get to our doctor appointments, get our prescriptions, grocery shop (I do have a teenage son who seems to eat as much as 2 men) plus Destiny is in college and needs to get to class. I tend to be bedridden most of the time and my children take such good care of me. It would be so stressful on Destiny's body if she has to take the bus or constantly reschedule her life around having friends drive her. Please help me, help my children by donating so we can get our old car fixed and they can have some independence and security. This will greatly ease their minds and mine.

Mahalo (thank you) for reading our story and we appreciate any help you can give. ALOHA!
