Corey Hamilton, a very precious and brave wee boy touched the lives and hearts of many people all over Scotland in the last few months as he battled a cruel childhood cancer.

On Friday morning he sadly lost his fight and passed away in his sleep, leaving a community heartbroken but comforted in the knowledge that he is beyond the reach of a truly awful disease.

His family have shown a tremendous courage and dignity throughout his illness, fundraising and campaigning for treatment for childhood cancers like Coreys.

Over 25k has been raised and Stephen, Angela and Declyn are determined to ensure that Corey Can goes on to leave a legacy that shines as brightly as Corey Hamilton did in the 9 years he blessed us with

Its been a busy month for everyone close to Corey, with lots of support from people all over Scotland who have read or heard about Corey's appeal.
Big hearted folks have been organising lots of fundraising and sponsoring all over the place and there have been some really fun, imaginative events taking place.

Corey has just finished a course of chemotherapy in the hope that it would shrink the tumour enough to allow surgery to remove it. Everyone in Corey's family was praying for good news on Friday when the results were due back. Corey has a very aggressive type of childhood cancer and when the results came in, they weren't what everyone was hoping for.
Corey is now getting ready to start 3 weeks of radiotherapy to prepare for the next course of treatment, which will be a different type of chemo, which is not available on the NHS in Scotland. It can be sourced from England, but if that doesn't prove possible, Yorkhill fully support the families decision to seek treatment in Germany.

The overall total is now around £7500 which is well on the way to Corey's target - Many, Many, Many thanks to everyone who has cared enough for Corey to donate their money, time, effort or kind words.
