I can't do this alone...

Hello, My name is Erin Hoeye. For the past 13 years I have been living in Europe, and while this may seem fun and exciting to some, the only thing I wanted, especially for the last 6 years was to come home. Come home to those who loved me and cared about me, and whom I missed dearly. Unfortunately, I could not just come home. I have my son, Ashley, to think about. And due to a long series of miscommunications, lack of money and resources, and international laws conflicting with each other, my son has no legal citizenship of any country. I have been trying to establish American citizenship ( he was born in The Netherlands) for many years and although there is his entitlement to it by birthright, we have hit road block after roadblock. His passport was only granted for 5 days, he can't get a social security number, his last name was changed by the embassy without formal documentation.. its never ending. Due to our special circumstances, Ashley falls through the cracks of almost all the immigration laws making this 200xs harder then this needs to be. Frustration levels are high, and emotions are all on the verge of the breaking point.

Because of all these immigration issues, I'm not able to work for I have no child care of any kind, and i spend my days ( and most nights, due to the hour time difference to the Netherlands) on the phone and letter writ ting trying to get things straighten out. I receive no child support from his father, and due to international laws cannot force him to help me in anyway.I'm also not eligible for any social services, as I cannot claim my son due to his lack of social security number. It seems as though I cannot win for losing. No matter where I look, where I turn the answer is no, I'm sorry we can't help you.

Until now I have been staying with a friend who was kind enough to open his home to us, but with the understanding it was temporary, he cannot support all 3 of us.l I had assumed that everything have been settled by now... thats not the case. And i need to find a place to live, as soon as I can..preferably before school starts in the fall.

I've never been the kind of person to ever ask for much help... but this time I truly cannot do this on my own. I own nothing, have no possessions, have no bank account, no credit cards, ...and no more options. I need some help.. for the sake of my incredible wonderful 6 year old boy. I need help. He needs to be a citizen. He needs to have a social security number. He needs to be able to go to school. He needs stable housing and a bedroom he can call his own...
I know times are hard for everyone, and I know it's a lot to ask... but please, if you can...anything will hep us... I can't do this alone anymore

Ashley's citizenship
first/last/deposit on an apartment
utility bills and transportation while I look for work
home furnishings
