Chengeta Orphan School Fundraiser

On a recent trip home to Zimbabwe, I decided to take an impromptu safari trip through Chengeta Lodge. In route I was astonished to see adolescent children walking to school, without shoes, through this remote area. Initially, what moved my heart was the welfare of the children we witnessed walking without shoes. However, after taking a tour of the school and hearing the current challenges faced by the teachers raised a greater concern.
My mission is to change the lives of these less-privileged children in remote rural communities by investing in their education, encouraging them to dream again, and inspiring them to be ambitious and to rebuild the passion and boldness to chase after their dreams. To demonstrate that someone, somewhere in the world, dared to believe in them and to fan into flame the faith and hope to believe that they are important beings with the potential to be anything they want to be in life. Every child has a right to be educated irrefutably regardless of financial standing and class. No child should be deprived of that right, and neither should we allow poverty to be a bearing factor.
On account of all this I have decided to do the following:
Put shoes on the feet of 43 children in the special needs program, and to donate:
140 copies of Home Economics Textbook,
20 books per grade 140 copies of Religious and Moral Education Textbook,
20 books per grade
800 writing exercise books for GRADE 3-7
200 math exercise books for GRADE 3-7
300 writing books for ECD - GRADE 2
100 math books for ECD - GRADE 2
8 Boxes of blue pens
400 pencils
50 boxes of crayons for ECD
Build a basketball court and donate 10 basketballs
Please consider joining this effort. We hope our humble donations will make a difference in changing the lives of these children, and that this will be a seed for other children and orphans who will attend Chengeta Primary School in future. We have certainly fallen in the love with the school, its staff, and most importantly, the children.
