Charlie's Knee Surgery

Donation protected
Charlie is the happiest, friendliest dog I've ever met.  He loves everyone he comes across, even strangers on the street who stop to give him a quick pat.  He'll be five years old in April, and he's had a rough life.  When he was about 2 and a half, I discovered that he has a degenerative joint disease in his hips that makes him unable to run, play, or take long walks that he loves.  With some medication and restriction of activity, we have managed this disease quite well and up until now he hasn't had to deal with much pain at all.

A week ago today, I came home from work and he was heavily limping on his right leg, and come next morning he wasn't putting any weight on it at all.   After taking him to the vet, I found out that he has completely torn his right cruciate (doggy equivalent to a human ACL).  He doesn't complain at all and he's as cheery as ever, but there are high risks involed with this type of injury.  If this doesn't get fixed through a surgery called TPLO, there's a high chance he'll live the rest of his life in a lot of pain and/or have the same extremely painful injury occur in his left leg.

However, this surgery is costly and being a fulltime student, I don't have much money.  I am hoping through the generosity of strangers and fellow dog lovers, I will be able to afford to get Charlie his necessary knee surgery.  Every drop in the bucket helps.  I want to be able to give Charlie the quality of life he deserves, a life without any pain.  Please help us if you can, he really is a good boy.
