Supplies for Camp Fire Survivors

Donation protected
The heartbreaking fires that have devastated California are weighing heavy on the GoFundMe team. As of Thursday 11/15, the Camp Fires alone, have taken over 140,000 acres and are only 40% contained, costing the lives of 56 people. Over 8,800 structures have been destroyed, including 7,600 single family homes, evacuating 52,000 with over 13,000 people in shelters. Many families are sheltered in structures while many are staying in tents in the Walmart parking lot.

This hits close to home for many of us but especially for one of our friends and colleagues, Brittany. Paradise is her hometown, and her family and friends have lost everything. In Brittany’s words:

"It’s hard to find the words to describe Paradise - how do you describe home? I grew up there, and many of the people I know and love remained there long after I moved away. Paradise is not your average city. Unlike many places, this community of people decided that no matter how much it grew, they wanted the community to stay the same. Instead of incorporating as a city, Paradise branded itself as a town, and you can still see that camaraderie today. The vast majority of residents were devastated by this fire, yet you can find them out at shelters working together to help others in need. People don’t have anything, yet they are giving everything. It’s a community of loving caring individuals working hard together trying to piece their lives back together. Despite having lost the infrastructure, the heart and soul of town live on through the people."
