The One Where Kate Moves to CO

Faced with the reality of homelessness here in Maine, I am moving to Colorado at the end of May. I will be taking a room in Greeley at an extremely reasonable rate.
But I am worried.
Worried?
Terrified.
Seven years of relying on meager disability benefits (or scraping by without them) have left me without savings, job history, or non-Amtgard qualifications. This makes finding accommodating employment even more complicated- "complicated" being an improvement over "impossible".
Typical expenses for a cross-country move like this include things like making sure my car will function for long enough to establish myself; basic living expenses like toilet paper, food and cleaning supplies; a flight out (my father and brother will drive out my car and belongings on a trailer separately)...
Add in things unique to my position like :
- medical costs for establishing care once in Colorado;
- the cost of training and licenses to establish ability to work in either the medical or cannabis industries;
- work-appropriate clothing after the better part of a decade in yoga pants and shelf bras;
- replacing accessibility items I can't take with me, &c.
... and this all becomes quite daunting.
At the suggestion of several, and under threat of others doing it for me, I present you a GoFundMe.
I can guarantee that funds will be put to good use (see the above) in what I'm coming to think of as my Lifewarming Party.
