Bria's First Semester in Pi Phi

Donation protected

A week after receiving her bid to join Pi Phi at Old Dominion University this semester, Bria Washington found out her mother is sick and may have cancer again, a rare form of breast cancer. Bria's mom was hesitant to share this information with her daughter initially as she didn't want her to worry or for the news to affect her grades and extracurricular activities.

To be by her mother's side, Bria has been making frequent trips to go home on the weekends which has caused her to miss some of her required New Member meetings. Frequent hospital visits, tests and biopsies have put a financial strain on Bria's family, meaning she can't afford her New Member dues for the Fall 2014 semester.

Virginia Delta has a history of supporting its members in times like these and we plan to do it again. To help Bria stay up to date with her New Member education programming, her Big Sister, Charice, and New Member Coordinator, Nikki, are going to work hand in hand, ensuring Bria is receiving the assistance she needs.

Bria says that being a part of Pi Phi during the last few weeks has really helped her cope with everything that has been going on and that the emotional support she has received from the sisters of Pi Phi has been incredible. We don't want the financial burden of dues during her family's time of hardship this semester to keep her from enjoying a lifetime of sisterhood and sincere friendship, especially when now is a time when she needs it the most.

Please help us to pay for her first semester in Pi Phi! Donate $5, $10, $20... whatever you can to help keep this young lady involved with Virginia Delta! This is what the true meaning of sisterhood is all about!

Thank you so much for your support!
